MARY ANN DAVIS
1896-1966
  
Mary Ann Davis, age 69, died Saturday, May 21, 8:35 a.m. at a local
hospital following a brief illness.
  
Born June 6, 1896 in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late
Thomas J. and Lydia Blevins Castle.
  
She had been a lifelong resident of Johnson County, recently residing
on Wood Street in Paintsville.  She also was a member of the Cedar
Grove United Baptist Church.
  
Her husband Charles Herbert Davis preceded her in death in 1935.
  
Survivors include; two sons, Herbert Jr., Oscoda, Michigan and
Franklin D. Davis, Akron, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Earl Haney and
Jacqueline Davis, city; Mrs. Lillian Hudson, Thelma, and a brother
Elbert "Buddy" Castle, Sr., city.
  
The funeral was conducted Monday, May 23, ten a.m. at the Freewill
Baptist Church on Third Street with Claude Preston, C. C. Hall, and
Byron VanHoose officiating.
  
Burial was held in the Davis Cemetery at Davis Branch with in charge.
