MELVIN DUTTON
1881-1962

Melvin Dutton, 81, retired merchant of this city, died in a local
hospital at 3:35 a.m. Thursday, November 22, following an illness of
three months.

The son of the late James and Malissa Bowens Dutton, he was born in
Johnson County, September 1881, and was a member of the Freewill
Baptist Church.

His wife, Minnie Daniel Dutton, preceded him in death 8 years ago.

Surviving are two daughters, Malissa Blackburn, Nolan, WV; Stella
Crum of this city; two sisters, Maggie Spartman, Elkhorn City; Nervie
Rowe, Greasy Creek.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the
Pentecostal Church in this city with Cline Salyer, William Tackett,
and Melvin Cisco as officiating ministers.

Burial was in the Cumbo Cemetery.
