DELIA MAY FARRIS
1884-1964
Mrs. Delia May Farris, 80, former resident of Van Lear, died in
the Akers Rest Home in Ashland at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, May 17, of a
stroke after an illness of two years.
A daughter of the late Samp and Susan France Litteral, she was
born February 8, 1884, in Greenup County and had resided at Van
Lear for forty-five years.
She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Her husband, Ralph Farris, preceded her in death January 25, 1954.
Survivors include a son, Albert Bayes, Gary, Ind.; a daughter,
Mrs. Cloteen Plummer, Prestonsburg; a brother, Jim Litteral,
Greenup; a sister, Nora Yates, Portsmouth, Ohio.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday in the
chapel of the Preston Funeral Home wtih Edgar Hewlett as
officiating minister.
Burial was in the Preston Cemetery in this city.
