GAIUS HAMPTON 1917-1999 Retired funeral director Gaius Franklin 'Tebe" Hampton, 82, died June 27 1999 at his Staffordsville residence. Mr. Hampton was born February 14, 1917, in Catlettsburg, to the late Wade and Ada Davis Hampton. He was retired from Paintsville Funeral Home and was a member of Little Mud Lick Church of God. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Martha L. Womack. Surviving are his wife, Ilene Hampton; two brothers, Charles Hampton of Catlettsburg and Raymond Hampton of Michigan; three sisters, Ruby McGee of St. Albans, West Virginia, Agnus. Edgertown of Springhill, Florida, and Betty Scarberry of De Bary, Florida; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, June 30, at 1 P.m. at little Mud Lick Church of God, with Revs. Tobe Wheeler and M.T "Jr." Womack officiating. Burial will be in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville, with Paintsville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
