DEWEY HOLBROOK
1902-1980
Thelma resident, Dewey Holbrook, 77, died Monday January 7 1980,
at Highland Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
Born October 1 1902, in Johnson County, he was the son of Harry
and Sarah Rowland Holbrook.
he was a member of the United Baptist Church and was preceded in
death by his wife, Elsie Blanton Holbrook, June 6 1978.
Surviving are two sons, Harry and Jack Holbrook, Galion, Ohio;
three daughters, Irene Katz, Sunberry, Ohio; Beulah Grandinetta
and Sue Patton, Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Walter Holbrook,
Thelma; and Den Holbrook, Wheelwright; two sisters, Verna Blanton,
Oil Springs; and Elizabeth Barker, Betsy Layne; 11 grandchildren
and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 10, in Concord United
Baptist Church, Thelma with Elders Nim Sturgill, Dick Mollette and
Hobart Pack officiating.
Burial was in the family cemetery at Thelma with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
