ELSIE HOLBROOK
1904-1978
Elsie Blanton Holbrook, 74, died Tuesday, June 6, in Highlands
Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Blanton was born February 9, 1904 in Magoffin County, the
daughter of Andy Jack and Mary Belle Fuget Blanton.
She was a resident of Thelma and a member of the Old Friendship
United Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Dewey Holbrook; two sons, Jack Holbrook
and Harry Holbrook both of Galion, OH; three daughters, Mrs. Irene
Katz of Sunbury, OH, Mrs. Beulah Grandinetta and Mrs. Sue Patton,
both of Columbus; a brother and sister, Granville (Curly) Blanton of
Jackson, OH and Mrs. Thelma Bentley of Garrett; 11 grandchildren and
7 great grandchildren.
Funeral services held Friday, June 9, in Concord United Baptist
Church at Thelma with Elders Buell Ferguson and Nim Sturgill
officiating.
Burial was in Holbrook Family Cemetery at Thelma with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
