MRS. HOWES DIED MONDAY

Former Paintsville Girl Passes Away in Huntington

Mrs. Annie Wallace Howes, age 22, died at the home of her mother,
Mrs. Ethel Howes at 1030 Twelfth Avenue, Huntington, W. Va., at
2:30 last Monday afternoon, following an illness of more than a
year.

Mrs. Howes is a former Paintville girl. She was the daughter of
the late Clarence W. Howes, a prominent attorney, who died in
Paintsville when Mrs. Howes was a mere child. She is a
granddaughter of the late Henry S. Howes and Capt. J. D. Preston
of Paintsville.

Mrs. Howes was a graduate of the Huntington High School and had
attended Starrett's School for Girls in Chicago. She was very
popular with all who knew her.

The body was brought to this city Wednesday afternoon and taken to
the home of her aunt, Mrs. Lloyd G. Meade and Dr. Meade where
funeral services were held Wednesday.

Funeral services were in charge of Rev. H. G. Sowards, pastor of
the M. E. Church, South, of Louisa, Ky.

Services at the grave were in charge of Undertaker Kendall of
Huntington.

Burial followed in the Preston Cemetery in East Paintsville.
