Ballard Hyden, 78, died Tuesday, September 28, 1999, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Mr. Hyden was born April 2, 1921, in Johnson County, to the late Ballard Hyden Sr. and Sarah Webb Hyden.
He was a retired steam presser for Prestonsburg Cleaners.
He was preceeded in death by his first wife, Beulah Daniels Hyden.
Surviving are his wife, Eloise Scalf Hyden; one son, Bobby Eugene Hyden of Thelma; two stepsons, Danny Fannin of Paintsville and Michael Patrick of Pikeville; one daughter, Anne Margaret Hager of Fayetteville, North Carolina; four brothers, Eugene Hyden of Warsaw, Indiana, Ernest Hyden of Mentone, Indiana, Roedolph Hyden of Flora, Indiana and Howard Hyden of Wabash, Indiana; four sisters, Helen Wilcox of West Van Lear, Gladys Blair of Centerville, Ohio, Thelma Helton of Huber Heights, Ohio and Fannie Honeycutt of Van Lear; three grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 1, at Thealka Freewill Baptist Church, with Gary Blair officiating.
Burial was in Thealka Cemetery at Thealka.
