Mrs. Ocie Lester, 57, wife of Dewey Lester of Denver, died in a local
hospital at 9:00 p.m., October 20, following an illness of two weeks.
  
The daughter of Levi and Melissa Stanley Blackburn, she was born
October 13, 1903, in Floyd County and had resided at Denver for the
past six years.
  
Surviving besides her husband are a son, Densil Lee Lester; two
brothers, Tommy Blackburn, Russell; Joe Blackburn, East Point; three
sisters, Mrs. Virgie Harmon, Hillsboro, Mrs. Johnny Crisp,
Prestonsburg; Mrs. Nancy Music, East Point.
  
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 23,
from the First Church of God with C.C. Hall and Moses Kitchen as
officiating ministers.
  
Burial was in the family cemetry.
