GERMAN MAY

German May, 93, of Leander, died Thursday, July 27,2000 at
Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center.

Mr. May was born October 30, 1906, in Johnson County, to the
late David Ballard and Minnie Elizabeth Spradlin May. He was
a miner. He was also preceded in death by his first wife,
Edna Ethel May; and a son, Beecher Leroy May.

Surviving are his second wife, Dora May of Leander; four sons,
William David May of Claypool, Indiana, Kenneth Wiley May of
Norwood, Ohio, Richard Thomas May of Warsaw, Indiana, and
Dorvel Eugene May of Etna Green, Indiana; two daughters,
Virgie Elenore Rhody and Elizabeth Pearl Walters, both of
Walbridge, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Barbara Frances of
Palestine, Indiana, and Janet Sue Davis of Warsaw, Indiana;
one stepson, Robert May of Claypool, Indiana; three sisters,
Alka Nickles of Marion, Ohio, Omega Hood of Charlotte, North
Carolina, and Ruby O’Keefe of Indianapolis, Indiana; and 30
grandchildren, 17 step-grandchildren and several great- and
step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 31, at Beechwall
United Baptist Church, with Elders James R. Blair and Gene May
officiating.

Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery at
Staffordsville, with Paintsville Funeral
Home in charge of arrangements.
