ROMA MEEK DIES SUDDENLY IN LAS VEGAS
Roma Meek, 50, died suddenly at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, Tuesday, March 5, 1963. His brother, Herman Meek, 52, of Lancaster, Ohio, died February 25 at the home of another brother, Thurman Meek of Thealka, after an extended illness.
The son of Davis Meek of Marion, Ohio, and the late Maude Sagraves Meek, he was born in this county and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict.
Survivors include besides his father and brother, Thurman, his wife, Mrs. Tillie Meek and two daughters 11 (Annabel) and 12 (LaMar) of Las Vegas; another brother, Earl of Ashland; three sisters, Mrs Harry Gambill of Lancaster, Ohio; Mrs. Richard Sparks of Marion, Ohio, and Mrs. Hazel Ward of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Funeral services were conduted Sunday in Las Vegas and will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. at the Jones and Preston Funeral Home Thursday.
The Rev. Ira McMillian, Jr., of Unity Baptist Church, Ashland, will officiate.
Burial will be in the family cemetery at Thealka.
