United Baptist Elder John D. Music, 87, passed away in a Prestonsburg
nursing home on October 16, 1970.

He had been ill for the last two years.

Services for the former miner, farmer and East Point resident were
held in Paintsville's United Baptist Church two days later.

Elders O. I. Williams, Paris Music and Nim Sturgill served as
ministers. The Paintsville Funeral Home supervised burial in the
family cemetery at East Point, with Music's nephews acting as
pallbearers.

Tom and Lou Greer Music, both deceased, gave birth to him in Floyd
County.

Survivors include his wife, Molly Webb Music; four sons, Odis Music
of Costa Rica, John H. Music of Wabash, Indiana, Billy Music of
Paintsville, and Ray Music of Dayton, Ohio; a brother in Silver Lake,
Ind., George Music; one sister, Mrs. Josie May of East Point; 15
grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
