AMOS PELPHREY 1965-1958 Passes Tuesday
Amos Pelphery, 92, well known farmer and livestock dealer of Staffordsville, died at his home at 5:00 a.m. Tuesday September 23, 1958, after a long illness.
The son of the late Jeff and Oma Salyer Pelphrey he was born in this county December 31, 1865, and had been a lifelong resident of Staffordsville.
He was a member of the United Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Sturgill Pelphrey, four sons, Fred and Bert Pelphrey of Staffordsville, Brooks Pelphrey of Manila; Vol Pelphrey, Volga; two daughters, Mrs. Donnie Tackett, Staffordsville and Mrs. Dunlap, Dunlap, Detroit, Michigan; Two sisters, Rose Pelphrey Van Lear; Allie Trimble, Cleveland, Ohio; one half brother Ernest Mahan, Staffordsville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday September 25, 1958, at the Staffordsville United Baptist Church with Lonza Reed, Tommie Bailey and Lloyd Williams as officiating ministers.
Burial will be in the family cemetery at Manila.
