Ed Pelphrey Dies Suddenly Of Heart Attack
Services were conducted Saturday at his home at West Van Lear for Ed Pelphrey, 66, who died suddenly at 2:45 p.m., September 10, 1958, of a heart attack while squirrel hunting near Lowmansville.
Born at Sitka March 3, 1892 the son of Daniel and Elizabeth Fletcher Pelphrey, he had made his home at West Van Lear for the past nineteen years. He was a retired miner and a member of the United Baptist Church.
He was married June 5, 1913 at Stambaugh to the former Martha Grim who survives.
Also surviving are two brothers, Alex Pelphrey, West Jefferson, Ohio and Elizie Phelphrey, Columbus, Ohio; a half brother Pat Fletcher, Lowmansville, a half sister, Jayzee Sparks, Ivyton.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m., with Lonza Reed, Grover Fannin, Paris Music, Bud Wiley, and Millard O’Bryant as officiating ministers.
Burial was in the Cumbo Cemetery at West Van Lear.
