Floyd Pierce, Sr. age 73, died Wednesday, January 25, 1967 at 6 a.m. in the
Paintsville Clinic after an extended illness.
 
Born October 10, 1893 in Tayes, West Virginia, he was the son of the late
Robert and Mary Pierce Skeens.  A retired truck driver, he had lived in
Paintsville for several years.
 
His wife who surives is the former Myrtie B. Thompson.  Additional survivors
include a son, Floyd, Jr. of Paintsville, a daughjter, Mrs. Josephine Webb
of Springfield, Ohio and seven grandchildren.
 
The funeral was held Friday January 27, 1967 at 1 p.m. at the Thealka Free
Will Baptist Church with Don Fraley and C. C. Hall officiating.
 
Internment followed in the Thealka Cemetery with the Jones-Preston Funeral
Home in charge.
