Paris Preston, 76, Of Williamsport Dies Friday

Paris Preston, 76, lifelong resident of Williamsport, died at his
home Friday morning, July 13, 1955 following an illness of a year.

Born January 7, 1879, he was the son of the late Eliphus and
Elizabeth Ward Preston.  A carpenter by occupation, he was a member
of the Regular Primitive Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death April 12, 1947, by his wife, Alka Ward
Preston.

He is survived by three sons, Jay Preston, Williamsport, Glenn
Preston, Portsmouth, Ohio, Mitchell Preston, Pikeville, Ky.; two
daughters, Mrs. Irene Potts, Mitchell Preston, Pikeville, Ky.; two
daughters, Mrs. Irene Potts, Painesville, Ohio, and Miss Joy
Imogene Preston, at home.

Other survivors include three brothers, Jess Preston, Inez, Ballard
Preston, Boons Camp, and Ernest Preston, Offutt.

Funeral services were held Sunday morning at the Regular Primitive
Baptist Church at Thelma with the Revs. Henry Stamper and Newt
Daniels officiating.

Burial was made in the family cemetery at Thelma under the
direction of the Jones and Preston Funeral Home.
