ROGER LEE PRESTON
1895-1966
Roger Lee Preston, 72, a native of Ashland, died September 29 in
King’s Daughters’ Hospital.
A son of the late Cyrus M. and Minnie Hurt Preston, he was born in
Paintsville in May, 1895. A sister, Miss Ora May Preston of
Paintsville, is among the survivors.
He had been a lifelong resident of Ashland, retiring from Armco
Steel Corp. in 1961 after 17 years of service. He was a member of
the First Methodist Church, Elks Lodge 350, American Legion Post
76, and an Army veteran of World War I.
Also surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillian Cline Preston, and two
other sisters, Mrs. Ester Preston Runge of Winchester and Mrs.
Frank C. Malin of Ashland.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and by a brother, Ray
Preston.
Services were held at the Steen Funeral Home in Ashland, and
burial followed in the Preston Cemetery in Paintsville.
