WILLIE L. PRESTON

Willie L. Preston, Sr., age 84, died Wednesday, July 6, 1:25 a.m.,
at the Paintsville Hospital after a brief illness.
  
Funeral services were conducted Friday, July 8, 1:30 p.m., at the
Thelma schoolhouse, with Arthur Preece and Nim Sturgill
officiating.
  
Born January 23, 1882, at Thelma, he was a son of William S. and
Nancy Jane Francis Preston.
  
He had been a lifelong resident of Thelma.
  
Survivors include three sons, Donnis and Ochel, Thelma, and
Willie, Jr., River; three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Preston, Thelma;
Mrs. Sarah Jane Ward, River, and Mrs. Ruth Turner, Columbus, Ohio.
  
Also surviving are ten grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren.
  
Burial was held in the Preston Cemetery at Thelma under direction
of the Preston Funeral Home
