EDGEL A SEGRAVES
Edgel A. Segraves, 20, of Flat Gap died Monday in a local hospital from head injuries received Saturday evening when the Chevrolet automobile which he was driving overturned and rolled over an embankment.
The accident happened near the home of Charlie Williams of Elna.
In the automobile with the victim were, Roger McKenzie, Odell Picklesimer, and three other men whose names were not learned.
McKenzie was treated for severe cuts on the head and face and the others suffered shock and bruises, it was reported.
Segraves was born August 20, 1930 and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Iva Segraves of Flat Gap.
He was a farmer by occupation.
Surviving besides his parents are four sisters and one brother, Doris Gay Segraves, at home, Mrs. T. McKenzie and Mrs. Junior Blanton both of Volga, Mrs. Emma Zander of Flat Gap, and Leddie Segraves at home.
Funeral services were conducted today at 10:00 a.m. at Joe's Creek Church by Rev. Don Fraley, Rev. Bruce Daniel and Rev. Lafe Skaggs.
Burial was made in the McKenzie Cemetery at Joe's Creek under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home.
