ARZIE STURGILL
Arzie Sturgill, 80 died June 28 1984, at his Stambaugh residence.
Mr. Sturgill was born January 31 1904, in Johnson County, son
of Millard F. and Elizabeth Salyer Sturgill. He was a retired
coal miner and a member of the United Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Della Jenkins Sturgill; two sons,
Earl Sturgill of Stambaugh and Eugene Sturgill of Paintsville;
one daughter, Mrs. Anna Ruth Witten of Sitka;
six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Survivores include also include three brothers,
Clifford Sturgill, Thealka, Curtis Sturgill, Sitka, and
Junior Sturgill, Lorain, Ohio; and five sisters,
Virgie Reynolds, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Sarah Rhodes,
Springfield, Ohio, Geneva Castle, Barnett's Creek,
Margie Robins, Jenkins, and Lucian Collins, Salyersville.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 1, at the
Barnetts Creek United Baptist Church. Elders
Clifford Trimble, Kenny Pelphrey, John G. Pelphrey,
and Lonza Reed officiated.
Burial was in the Johnson County Memorial Cemetery at
Staffordsville with Paintsville Funeral Home in charge
of arrangements.
