Mrs. Della Sturgill, 84, of Stambaugh, KY, died
March 28, 1989, at her home.
Mrs. Sturgill was born April 12, 1904, in Johnson Co.,
a daughter of the late Ira and Rosa Ella Fair Cook Jenkins.
Her husband, Arzie Sturgill, died in 1984.
She was a member of the United Baptist Church at Barnetts Creek.
Surviving are a daughter, Anna Ruth Witten of Stambaugh, KY;
two sons, Earl Sturgill of Stambaugh, KY (d. 1997); and
Eugene Sturgill of Paintsville; three sisters, Esta Mahan of
Barnetts Creek, Hester Davis of Oil Springs and Molly Gamber
of Hobe Sound, FL (d.); six grandchildren;
and seven great- grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 1, in
Barnetts Creek United Baptist Church, with Elders
Clifford Trimble, Kenny Pelphrey, Phillip Caudill and
Benny Salyer officiating.
Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery at
Staffordsville, with Paintsville Funeral Home in charge
of arrangements.
