ELSIE WARD
Funeral services will be held today, Friday, February 26,
for Elsie Arrowood Ward, 76, who died Tuesday,
February 23, 1999 at Wurtland Nursing Home.
Mrs. Ward was born December 27 1922, in Johnson County,
to the late Melvin and Etta McKenzie Arrowood.
She was a member of the Buffalo United Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ward,
on May 17 1992; and a brother Hansel Arrowood.
Surviving are two sons, Larry Ward of Paintsville, and
Danny Ward of Flatwoods; four brothers, Walter and
Doug Arrowood, both of Meally; Lawrence Arrowood
of West Wood, and Clarence Arrowood of Wurtland;
two sisters, Naomi Hager of Paintsville and Mary Preston
of Grayson; and five grandchildren,
and two great grandchildren.
Officiating at 1:00 p.m. services at Jones-Preston
Funeral Home Chapel will be Charles Price.
Burial will be in Johnson County Memorial
Cemetery at Staffordsville.
