BERT YOUNG
1899-1966
  
Bert Young, age 67, died Sunday, October 9, at 1:45 p.m. in the
Paintsville Hospital.
  
Born May 8, 1899 at Kerz, he was a son of George and Mary White
Young.
  
Young, a retired coal miner, had resided at Van Lear for the past 50
years and was a member of the United Baptist Church.
  
His wife the former Malvery Davis survives. They were married at Van
Lear on December 16, 1919.  Additional survivors are a son Carl
Vencil of Ashland, a daughter, Mrs. Betty Brickley of Richmond, three
brothers Gilbert and Otto, both of Van Lear, and Bradley of
Chandlersville, and three grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were held today at 10:30 a.m. at the Buffalo United
Baptist Church with Nim Sturgill, Elzie Banks and Florida Lyons
officiating.
  
Burial was held in the Hall Cemetery at Davis Branch with the Preston
Funeral Home in charge.
