MALVERY YOUNG 1902-1970 Former Van Lear resident Mrs. Malvery Davis Young, 67, died Saturday, January 31 1970, in a Richmond hospital after an extended illness. Daughter of the late Lon and Rosella Webb Davis, she was born on October 21 1902, at Meally. Mrs. Young lived in Van Lear for nearly 50 years, spending her last seven months in Richmond. Her husband, Bert Young, preceded her in death on October 9, 1966. Survivors included a daughter, Mrs. Betty Brickly of Richmond; and a son, Car1 Vencil Young of Ashland. Additional survivors include three sisters, Laura Mollett and Elizabeth Webb of Van Lear; and Ella Cranford of Inglewood, Calif.; two brothers, Frank Young, of Van Lear; and Cecil Young of West Van Lear; and three grandchildren. Nim Sturgill, Charles Price and Earl Muncy were the officiating ministers at the Tuesday, February 3, funeral services held at the Buffalo United Baptist Church, of which she was a member.
