Long Illness Takes Mother Of Seven
Addie Burke, 67, wife of Grant Burke of West Van Lear, died in a
local hospital Thursday, July 3, following an illness of several
months.
Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lena
Birchfield, Alfax, Ky, Mrs. Tessie Fields, City, four sons, Robert
and Walter of Odds, Richard, Van Lear, Estill and William of West,
Van Lear.
One son, Heber Ray, was killed in an automobile accident near
Prestonsburg last October.
Two brothers and two sisters also survive; John Clifton, San
Diego, CAl. Robert Clifton, Buffalo, N. Y., Mrs. Julia Spradlin,
Cliff, and Mrs. Margaret Ennis, Miamisburg, Ohio.
She leaves twenty-three-grandchildren and five great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Christian
Church at West Van Lear, by Rev. S. C. Honeycutt.
Burial was made in the West Van Lear Cemetery.
