Harold Edward Butcher, 72, of Van Lear, died Friday, March 11,
at his residence.
  
Born Oct. 21, 1938, he was the son of the late Nora and Ashley
Ward Butcher.
  
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Marie Hierra
and Jewell Sue Butcher.
  
Survivors include a son, Harold E. Butcher Jr. of Jarrettsville,
Md.; two daughters, Trena Butcher and Tracy Butcher, both of
Wabash, Ind.; seven brothers, Chester Butcher, Gene Arthur
Butcher, Randall Butcher, Darrell Butcher, Foley Butcher,
Sheldon Butcher and Charles Butcher, all of Van Lear; and two
sisters, Lorene Hall of Wabash and Norina Hackworth of
Prestonsburg.
    
Funeral services were Sunday, March 13, at Phelps and Son
Funeral Home Chapel, with Charles Banks officiating.
     
Burial was in Butcher Family Cemetery, Daniels Creek, under
direction of Phelps and Son Funeral Home, Paintsville.
