WILLIE BUTCHER
1906-1978
Willie Butcher, 68, died Tuesday, May 30, at his Van Lear residence.
Born December 17, 1906, in Johnson County, he was the son of Harm and
Emma Meeks Butcher.
Surviving are two sons, William Jr., Margate, Fla., and Clarence,
Baltimore, Md,; two brothers, Ashley Butcher, Van Lear and Lewis
Butcher, Wabash, Ind.; Two sisters, Virgie Combs, Wabash, Ind., and
Saarh Newberry, Auxier; and sevengrandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 2, in Jones- Preston Funeral
Home Chapel with Elders Elzie Bamks and O. I. Williams officiating.
Burial was in the Ashley Butcher Cemetery, Van Lear, with Jones-
Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements.
