WILLIAM CASSADY
1889-1968

William “Bill” Cassady, 79, died Thursday, September19 in a local
nursing home after an extended illness.

Born in Martin County on January 18, 1889, he was a veteran of World
War I, a resident of West Van Lear and a member of the West Van Lear
Church of Christ.

His wife, the former Zellie Sturgill, preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Charles Cecil Cassady, of Jeffersonville,
IN; a step son, David Trimble of Lorain, OH, and a step daughter,
June Trimble of Hillsboro; and a sister, Mrs. Maxie Pack of
Charleston, WV.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, September 21 in the Chapel
of the Jones and Preston Funeral Home with Cecil Sherman the
officiating minister.

Burial followed in the Cumbo Cemetery at West Van Lear under the
direction of the Jones- Preston Funeral Home.
