IRENE CASTLE

Irene Castle, 76, died Tuesday, June 21, in the J. J. Jordan Geriatric
Center in Louisa after an extended illness.
  
Ms. Castle was born August 28, 1901, in Floyd County, the daughter of
William Martin and Mary E. Collins Tackett. She was a resident of
Lowmansville and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
  
Surviving are a son, James Castle of Springfield, OH; a daughter, Ruby
Skaggs of Columbus, OH; a brother and sister, Tenner Tackett and Mrs. Alta
McCloud, both of Stambaugh; and eight grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were held Friday, June 24, in the Jones-Preston Funeral
Home Chapel with Reverends Don Fraley and Irvin Castle officiating.
  
Burial was in the family cemetery at Lowmansville with Jones-Preston Funeral
Home handling arrangements.
