Aged Resident Passes Sunday

Services Held Tuesday for Sam Castle, 75

Sam Castle, 75, a resident of the Greentown section of Paintsville for 41
years, died at his home Sunday morning following an illness of two years.

The son of the late Albert and Liza Murray Castle, he was born August 2,
1870 in Lawrence County. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of
Christ.

A member of the United Mine Workers of America, he retired from mining in
1945. Surviving are his wife, Pearl Hite Castle, three sons, Burns
Castle, Logan W. Va, Richard Castle, city, and Ransom Castle, St. Louis,
Mo; two daughters, Mrs. Hattie Dove, Thealka, and Wanda Fay Castle at home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the Pentecostal Church of
Christ.

Burial was made in the Thealka Cemetery under the direction of the
Preston Funeral Home.
