Funeral services were held Thursday, August 1, in Paintsville Funeral Home
Chapel for Verlin Daniel, 83.
Mr. Daniel died July 29 in his Paintsville home following an extended
illness. Born March 11, 1902 in Johnson County, he was a son of Artho and
Rebecca Brown Daniel, and was a retired coal miner.
Surviving are his wife, Mollie Turner Daniel; two daughters, Gaynell Melvin
of Paintsville and Jean Castle of New Carlisle, OH; a brother, Everett
Daniel of Paintsville; three sisters, Mrs. Thoral Blanton and Mrs. Lucinda
Castle of Sitka, and Mrs. Artha Castle of Ashland; five grandchildren and
four great grandchildren.
Rev. Bruce Daniel officiated at services with burial following in Johnson
County Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville.
