LEE HOWARD SR. 1891-1961 LEE HOWARD, SR., DIES SUDDENLY OF HEART ATTACK Lee Howard, Sr., 70, well-known resident of this city, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home on Washington Avenue at 11:15 p.m., Monday, July 3, 1961. The son of the late John and Fannie Cantrell Howard, he was born in Magoffin County January 15, 1891, and had resided in this city for thirty-seven years. He worked as a painter and was a member of the Paintsville United Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alice Montgomery Howard; two sons, Lee Howard, Jr., Chief of the Paintsville Fire Department; Paul Harrison Howard, assistant fire chief, both of this city; three daughters, Mrs. Buell Williams, Mrs. Curtis Hickman, Miss Mary Hazel Howard, all of this city; Mrs. William L. Grimm, Ashland. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday from the Paintsville United Baptist Church with F. F. Rigsby, Cully Sparks and V. L. Pelphrey as officiating ministers. Burial will be in the Jayne Cemetery at Staffordsville. PAINTSVILLE HERALD WEDNESDAY July 5, 1961
