Mary Alice Howard, 104, of Paintsville, died
Saturday, Aug. 9, at her residence.
Born March 21, 1899, in Magoffin County, she was a daughter of the
late Farish and Sarah Skaggs Montgomery.
She was a homemaker and a member of Tarklin Old Regular Baptist
Church of Paintsville, and a past member of Johnson County Republican
Women’s Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Howard.
Survivors include two sons, Lee Howard Jr. and Paul Harrison Howard,
both of Paintsville; four daughters, Esta Williams and Angie Hickman,
both of Paintsville, Noretta Grimm of Pedro, Ohio, and Mary Gullett
of Lansing, Mich.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 20
great-great grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Paintsville Funeral Home
Chapel, with Revs. Larry Blair and Gary Blair, and Elder Paul
Pelphrey officiating.
Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, under
direction of Paintsville Funeral Home.
