Howard W. Manning died Tuesday, May 29 in a local hospital after an
extended illness.
  
The son of the late James and Jenny Ishmael Manning he was 71 at the time
of his death. He was a retired truck driver and affiliated with the First
Baptist Church.
  
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Duty Manning, two sons, Tommy
Hereford and Jim Hereford, both of Michigan and a daughter, Shirley
Hereford, also of Michigan.
  
Rev. C. C. Hall conducted services Thursday, May 31, in the Chapel of the
Jones-Preston Funeral Home with interment following in the Preston Family
Cemetery in Paintsville under direction of the Jones- Preston Funeral
Home.
