CHESTER A. MEEK SR.
1939-1974





Funeral services were held at 11:00 am today, August 21, for
Chester Arthur Meek, Sr. of Albany, Georgia, who died
suddenly last Sunday, August 18 1974.

The son of the late John and Wrae Borders Meek, he was born
in Johnson County on September 27, 1939 and had resided in
Georgia for the past three years.

Mr. Meek was a member of the United Baptist Church at River.

Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Jean Meek of Albany; two
sons, John Patrick and Chester Arthur, Jr,, both of Albany;
four sisters, Ethel Pace of Seattle, Washington, Irene
Daniel of Paintsville, Vivan Carnes of Richmond and Margaret
Borders of Langley and four brothers, Charles L. Meek of
Albany, Don C. Meek of Cincinnati, Ohio, Joseph A. Meek of
Ashland and Freddie Meek of Georgetown.

The services were held in the Chapel of the Jones-Preston
Funeral Home with Reverends Nim Sturgill and O. I. Williams
Officiating.

Burial was in the Borders Family Cemetery at River with
arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston
Funeral Home.
