Minnie Wrae Meek, age 68, died unexpectedly Friday, August 19, 3 p.m.
at the Paintsville Hospital.

The funeral was held Monday, August 22, 10 a.m. at the River United
Baptist Church with Nim Sturgill officiating.

Born September 13, 1898 at Heneretta, she was the daughter of Joseph
and Mirza Dixon Borders.

She had spent her lifetime at River, and was a member of the United
Baptist Church.

Her husband preceded her in death on May 29, 1965.

Survivors include: six sons, Don C. of Cincinnati, Ohio; Celsus G.
of Summerville, West Virginia; Joseph A. of Ashland; Charles L. of
the U. S. Air Force in California; Chester A. of River and Fred R. of
Georgetown: four daughters, Mrs. Irene Daniels of Paintsville, Mrs.
Vivian Carnes of Richmond, Mrs. Margaret Borders of Langley, and Mrs.
Ethel Pace of Seattle, Washington.

A sister, Mrs. Hazel Daniels, of Mesa, Arizona also survives.

Burial took place in the Wallen cemetery at River under direction of
the Preston Funeral Home.
