WILLIAM MURPHY
1889-1973
William (Bill) Murphy, 83, of Hager Hill, died Wednesday, July 18, in
a local rest home following an extended illness.
Born October 24, 1889, he was the son of the late Marion Thomas and
Sytha Lemasters Murphy.
Survivors include two sisters, Mabel Castle and Elizabeth Redford and
two brothers, Pay Murphy and Alex (Jack) Murphy.
Services were conducted Friday, July 20, by Rev. Mose Kitchen in the
Chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with burial following in the
Cumbo Cemetery at West Van Lear.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral
Home.
