CORBIT OWENS

Corbit Owens, 63, died Monday, December 22, in his Oil Springs home.

Born Oct 2, 1917 in Johnson County, he was the son of Lee and Mary Cook
Owens, and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Nettie Meade Owens; five sons, Scotty, Bobby,
Troy, Jessee, and Mike, all of Oil Springs; two daughters, Josephine
Salyers, Springfield, OH, and Judy Hatfield, Staffordsville; three
brothers, Edgar and Walter Owens, Oil Springs, and Dallas Owens,
Relief; and two sisters, Edith Barker and Allie Jackson, Oil Springs.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec 25, in Pigeon Freewill Baptist
church with Dick VanHoose and Charles Stapleton officiating.

Burial was in the family cemetery at Oil Springs with Jones- Preston
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
