GLEN PELPHREY
1909-1978
 
Glen Pelphrey, 68, died Thursday, August 24, in Kendallville, IN,
after an extended illness. Born November 5, 1909, in Johnson County,
he was the son of Obie and Mary Pelphrey, and was a retired coal
miner.
 
Surviving are his wife, Marie Tackett Pelphrey; two sons, Glenn O.
Pelphrey and Hank Pelphrey, both of Staffordsville; four daughters,
Barbara VanHoose, Urbana, OH, Helen Harmon, Paintsville, Wanda
Adkins, New Carlisle, OH, and Mary Ratliff, Whitehouse; three
sisters, Mrs. Leona Sturgill, Barnetts Creek, Mrs. Nolice
Picklesimer, Circleville, OH, and Mrs. Pearl Spradlin, Michigan; and
14 grandchildren.
 
Funeral services were held Monday, August 28 in the Jones-Preston
Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Lowell Webb and Bob Lyons
officiating.
 
Burial was in the Pelphrey Cemetery at Staffordsville with Jones-
Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements.
