Mrs. Laura Alice Pelphrey, A resident of Staffordsville, died in a
local hospital Saturday afternoon after an illness of three weeks.

The daughter of John G. and Matilda Van Hoose Trimble, she was born
at Barnetts Creek March 28, 1876, and had been a resident of
Staffordsville most of her life. One of the county’s well known and
respected women, she was a loyal and faithful member of the United
Baptist Church for the past seventy-one years.

She was the widow of Deal Pelphrey, who preceded her in death in
1919.

Survivors include four sons, Frank, Charlie and Jessie Pelphrey, all
of Staffordsville;
