VOL T. PELPHREY
1908-1961

Vol T. Pelphrey, 53, died at 9:15 a.m., Friday, November 3, at the
home of his sister, Mrs. Donnie Tackett, Staffordsville. He had been
ill for the past six years.

The son of the late Amos and Laura B. Pelphrey, he was born in this
county August 28, 1908. He formerly lived in Ashland where he was
employed as a chauffeur. He was a member of the F.O.E. Aerie No.
2329, Ashland.

Survivors include besides his sister, three brothers, Fred, Brooks
and Bert Pelphrey all of Staffordsville; another sister, Mrs. Grace
Dunlap, Detroit, Michigan; two half brothers, George Blanton,
Portsmouth, O.; Leck Blanton, Wheelersburg, O.; a half sister, Mrs.
Chloe Mahan, Staffordsville.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday from the Old
Union church at Staffordsville with J. T. Bailey, Lloyd Williams, F.
F. Rigsby and Arnold Reed as officiating ministers. Burial was in
the Tackett Cemetery at Staffordsville.
