JOHN PHELPS
1899-1985
Meally resident John R. Phelps, 86, died November 3 1985 in Louisa
Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Mr. Phelps was born in Johnson County, March 20, 1899, the son of
Thomas and Trinvilla Webb Phelps.
He was a retired miner and a member of the Church of Christ.
His first wife, Ethel Short Phelps, preceded him in death August 30,
1976.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Skaggs Phelps; a son, Clyde Phelps of
Meally; a brother and sister, Bruce Phelps and Mrs. Frankie
Short,both of Van Lear; and two grandchildren, Greg and Sheri Phelps
of Meally.
Funeral services will be held today, Wedneday, November 6, at 2 p.m.
in the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel with Dave M. Flanery
officiating.
Burial will be in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville.
