DAVID PRATER JR.
1928-1976

David Prater, Jr., 47, died Friday, January 2, at the Lutheran
Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN, following a brief illness.

He was the son of the late David Prater and Sally Dutton Prater, who
survives.

Born August 1, 1928, in Johnson County, he was a resident of Wabash,
IN, employed as a millwright, a member of the Freewill Baptist church
and a veteran of World War II.

Surviving other than his mother are his wife, Wanda Butcher Prater,
two daughters, Kimberly Prater at home and Joan Bowling of Wabash,
two brothers, John of Dayton and Charles Prater of New Carlisle; four
sisters, Mrs. Bill Hunley of Fostoria, OH, Mrs. Vadis Pack of
Springfield, Mrs. James Blair of Hager Hill and Mrs. Dennis Chandler
of New Carlisle, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 5 in the chapel of Jones-
Preston Funeral Home with Rev. Cletis Garrett officiating.

Burial was in the Cumbo Cemetery at West Van Lear with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
