Russell Preston, 62, retired railroad conductor and former resident of
this city, died of a heart attack Wednesday, November 9, in Richmond, Va.

The son of Warren H. and Elizabeth Reynolds Preston, he was born in this
city August 24, 1898. He was a member of the Baptist Church and had made
his home in Dayton, Ohio, for the past fifteen years.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nora Smith Preston whom he married May 28,
1949, at Greenup; three daughters by a previous marriage, Mrs. June
Tackett and Mrs. Audrey Conley, both of this city; Mrs. Joan Walker,
Fullerton, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Hager, Prestonsburg; Mrs.
Virginia Smelley, Athens, Ga.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday from the chapel
of the Preston Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Perry as officiating
minister.

Burial was in the Preston Cemetery in this city.
