ZILPHY PRESTON

Mrs. Zilphy Preston, 86, died Friday, May 29 1970 in a local
nursing home after an extended illness.
The daughter of the late William A. and Angie Short Ward, she
was born at Meally on July 4, 1883.
She had been a resident of Paintsville for the past 24 years
and was affiliated with the United Baptist Church.
Her husband, James Cobe Preston, preceded her in death on
November 26, 1937. They were united in marriage on
June 4,1901 at Meally.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lesta Preston;
three grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; and two
great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, May 31 in the
Buffalo United Baptist Church with O. I. Williams,
Buell Ferguson and Glenn Arrowood officiating.
Burial was in the Preston Cemetery at Meally under the
direction of the Preston Funeral Home.
