Emma Faye Rowland, 72, of Volga, died Thursday, March 14, at Highlands
Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg.

Born Feb. 4, 1941, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late
George and Martha Pelphrey Salyer. She was a retired supervisor for
the Social Security Administration.

Survivors include a son, Barry Rowland of Staffordsville; a daughter,
Janie Pickle of Brentwood, Tenn.; four brothers, Clarence Rowland of
Ashland, George Paul Rowland of Flat Gap, Louie Rowland of Sunberry,
Ohio, and Winfred Rowland of Paintsville; four sisters, Ann Barber and
Orpha Childers, both of Paintsville, Helen Keeton of Middlesboro and
Edna Williams of Oil Springs; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday, March 18, at Fish Trap United Baptist
Church, with Sammy Reed and Frankie Williams officiating.

Burial was at Johnson County Memorial, Staffordsville, under direction
of Paintsville Funeral Home, Paintsville.
