BOONE TRIMBLE 1891-1963 Boone Trimble, 71, well known law enforcement officer of the county, died in St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, W. Va., at 11:15 a.m., Sunday, March 10, after an illness of several months. The son of Mark and Clarenda Spradlin Trimble, he was born at Barnetts Creek September 15, 1891, and had been a lifelong resident of that community. A veteran of World War I, he served thirteen years with the U.S. Army and twelve years with the Paintsville Police force, part of that time as Chief. He was elected sheriff of Johnson County in 1950 and served until 1954. His first marriage was to the former Rosa Lemaster, who preceded him in death. He later married Mrs. Eula Gullett, who survives. Other survivors include three sons, William Lindsey Trimble, Pikeville; Byron Douglas Trimble, Dayton, Ohio; Daniel Boone Trimble, Jr., U.S. Air Force, Minot AFB, N.D.; three daughters, Mrs. Carl Benson Spring Valley, Ohio; Mrs. James Reed, Dayton, Ohio; Mrs. Arnold Reed, Flat Gap; five brothers, Bruce Trimble, Barnetts Creek; Harry Trimble, Canada, Ky.; Quince Trimble, Columbus, Ohio; Elmer Trimble, Jackson, Ohio; Wince Trimble, Paintsville; (two sisters) Mrs. Delia Hubbard, Wadsworth, Ohio; Mrs. Sheila Coldiron, Westerville, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m., today at the Southside Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Willard Wilcox as officiating minister. Burial was in the family cemetery.
