RITES THURSDAY AT RIVER FOR HAM WALLEN

Ham Wallen, 76, well known resident of River, died in a local
hospital at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday, August 14 1962, of a heart attack
after a two days' illness.

The son of Robert and Ann Bryant Wallen, he was born in Knott County,
May 30 1886, and had been a resident of River for the past sixty
years. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Miranda Borders Wallen, whom he
married July 15 1908, at Henrietta; four sons, Mitchell Wallen,
Williamsport; Shellia Wallen, Tampa, Fla.; Kermit Wallen, River;
Gervin Wallen, New Plymouth, Ohio; four daughters, Mrs. Roma Stepp,
Grove City, Ohio; Mrs. Idyllis Murray, Galloway, Ohio; Mrs. Esther
Brown, Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Phyllis Kelly, Johnstown, Ohio; three
brothers, William and Lige Wallen, both of River; Ison Wallen, White
House; Also survivng are thrity-five grandchildren and twenty-one
great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the home
with Proctor Lyons and Norvel Vanover as officiating ministers.

Burial was in the Wallen Cemetery at River.
