MONROE WALLEN
1924-1986

Monroe Wallen, 62, died Tuesday, April 29, in Paul B. Hall Medical
Center.

He was born April 22, 1924, in Floyd County, the son of MART and
LYDIA RAMEY WALLEN, and was a miner.

Surviving are his wife, Irene Compton Wallen, who he married in
1950; a step- son, James B. Morrison of Michigan; a daughter, Diane
Castle of Lowmansville; a sister Gladys Cornett of Warsaw, IN; two
half- sisters, Phyllis Delong of Florida and Shirley Fitzgerald of
Warsaw; two step-grandchildren and one granddaughter.

Funeral sevices were held Thursday, May 1, in Baker Branch Freewill
Baptist Church, with Venny Vanhoose officiating.

Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville.
