Sidney A. Webb, Sr., 84, well-known resident of this city, died at
his home on East Street at 3:00 a.m., Friday, November 24, after an
extended illness.

Mr. Webb, a lifelong resident of Paintsville, was born February 13,
1877, the son of the late William A. and Helen Preston Webb,
prominent residents of the county.

Prior to his illness he engaged in the real estate business in this
city.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Gordon Webb, 1936; Sidney
Webb, Jr., 1950; Lynn Webb, 1951.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Beulah Preston Webb; a son, Robert
Webb, city; a daughter, Mrs. Aleene Switzer, Trimble, Tenn.

Also surviving are six grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday at the chapel
of the Jones and Preston Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Perry,
Pastor of Mayo Memorial Church, as the officiating minister.

Pallbearers were J. Milo Preston, Charles M. Wells, Clarence
Melvin, Deward Price, Fred Hefner, Ronald Webb, Donald Webb and
Pete Lewis.

Burial was in the Preston Cemetery in this city.
